Customer Service Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Assistant to join our Homelessness and Supported Housing Service, supporting residents, customers and colleagues through the delivery of a professional reception, telephone and administrative service.

About the Role
As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for many of our customers, providing a welcoming, professional and responsive service both in person and over the telephone. You will support customers accessing our services, provide information and assistance, and ensure enquiries are dealt with efficiently and sensitively.
You will undertake a variety of administrative duties including processing information, maintaining records, handling correspondence, ordering supplies and distributing mail. You will also use a range of ICT systems to record, retrieve and communicate information accurately.
Working as part of a wider team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the service, helping to ensure customers receive a reliable, efficient and positive experience whenever they contact or visit us.

You will have experience of dealing with customers either face to face, over the telephone or in a reception environment and be comfortable working in a busy customer-focused setting. You will possess good communication skills, a professional and approachable manner, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
You will be organised, able to manage a varied workload, and confident using computer systems and Microsoft applications. Above all, you will be committed to delivering high-quality support to customers and colleagues while representing Sheffield City Council professionally and positively.

Benefits
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
