Customer Service Assistant

Location: London

Contract: Part-time

Working pattern: Predominantly evenings and weekends

Overview

Our client is a well-established operator of major entertainment venues in London and is seeking friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Customer Service Assistants to join its front-of-house teams.

In this role, you will help deliver an excellent visitor experience before, during, and after performances. You will welcome customers, check tickets, answer questions, provide directions, and assist with the sale of programmes, merchandise, drinks, snacks, and other venue products.

This is a flexible part-time opportunity suited to people looking for work around other commitments. Most shifts take place during evenings and weekends in line with performance schedules.

Full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional assistance.
  • Check tickets and direct visitors to the correct areas of the venue.
  • Answer customer questions and provide clear information about performances, facilities, and venue arrangements.
  • Assist with the sale of programmes, merchandise, drinks, snacks, and ice cream.
  • Process cash and card payments accurately.
  • Help maintain clean, tidy, and welcoming public areas.
  • Support customers with accessibility requirements where appropriate.
  • Work closely with colleagues and managers to ensure the smooth running of performances and events.
  • Respond calmly and professionally to customer concerns.
  • Refer complaints or more complex issues to the appropriate manager.
  • Follow all health, safety, security, and customer service procedures.
  • Assist with the safe evacuation of customers when instructed by the Duty Manager.
  • Undertake additional shifts at other venues where available and operationally required.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • A friendly, confident, and approachable manner.
  • Good interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional approach.
  • Ability to remain calm in a fast-paced public environment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and shifts based around performance schedules.
  • Willingness to complete all required customer service and safety training.
  • Ability to follow instructions and emergency procedures.
  • Applicants must be aged 18 or over, as the role may involve serving alcohol.

Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, retail, events, or entertainment venues would be beneficial but is not essential.

Available working patterns may include:

  • Seven performances across five days per week, with a minimum of 26.25 hours.
  • Six performances per week, with a minimum of 22.5 hours.
  • Five performances per week, with a minimum of 18.75 hours.
  • Four performances per week, with a minimum of 15 hours.

Other flexible arrangements may be discussed during the interview process.
