Customer Service Consultant – Essential Role at HSBC
About the Role
The Customer Service Consultant delivers outstanding service, empowering customers to use HSBC’s digital platforms and providing flexible banking support. You’ll actively raise fraud awareness and identify those needing vulnerable or complex assistance—ensuring financial inclusion for everyone.
We’re looking for passionate individuals with a helpful personality, strong communication skills, and an ambition to exceed expectations. While experience isn’t mandatory, we prioritise those who can hold genuine, empathetic conversations and go above and beyond for customers.

Responsibilities
You’ll play a pivotal role by:
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, taking ownership of their queries and delivering a personalised, friendly, and efficient experience.
- Educating customers on HSBC’s digital services and reinforcing fraud awareness.
- Identifying vulnerable customers and determining tailored support strategies.
- Assisting with complex banking needs to ensure customers feel empowered and cared for.

To succeed, you’ll need:
- Exceptional communication skills to engage meaningfully, build rapport, and demonstrate empathy.
- The ability to self-manage customer interactions, ensuring resolution that exceeds expectations.
- Resilience to thrive in a dynamic, evolving work environment.
No NCTJ or prior customer service experience is required—our focus is on personality, passion, and potential, backed by comprehensive on-the-job training.
Hours & Location
- Full-time (35 hrs per week):
- Mon–Fri: 09:00 – 17:00
- Some Branches: Sat: 09:00 – 13:30 (not all)
- Temporary branch support may be required within reasonable travel distance (expenses covered).
Working with a Student Visa?
If you cannot commit to all 35 hours per week, we cannot progress your application due to policy restrictions.
Training & Development
- 9-day Customer Service Consultant training course:
- Split over 3 weeks (on-site in branch).
- Covers job role specifics, systems, products, and services.
- Note: You cannot take holidays during training—full attendance is mandatory.
