An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Savings Direct team as a Customer Service Consultant within our telephone and online services.

This role is key in delivering an excellent customer experience by handling inbound and outbound calls, digital enquiries, supporting customers with their accounts, and promoting our products and services in line with Darlington Building Society’s values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality, professional service to customers via telephone and digital channels
  • Handle a range of enquiries including account servicing, transactions, and general product information
  • Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and services
  • Ensure all interactions are compliant with regulatory and internal requirements
  • Accurately capture and update customer information on internal systems
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business to resolve customer queries
  • Contribute to team objectives and service standards

What we're looking for

  • Previous customer service experience, ideally within a telephone or online environment
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers
  • A positive, proactive approach and a passion for delivering excellent service
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable using IT systems and learning new processes

Working Pattern

21 Hours (2 week rota)

Week 1-

  • Wed: 10.00-18.00
  • Thurs: 10.00-18.00
  • Sat: 09.00-13.30

Week 2-

  • Tues: 09.00-17.00
  • Wed: 09.00-17.00
  • Thurs: 09.00-17.00

Location: Sentinal House, Darlington

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: £26,066.03 FTE £15,639.62 (Pro Rated)
