About the Role

Controls and VJ Tech are seeking a Customer Service Manager to lead customer service and technical support across both businesses.

You will manage the service team, coordinate customer support activities, and take ownership of customer issues through to resolution. Working closely with sales, engineering, and production teams, you will ensure customers receive responsive support while improving service standards, systems, and processes.

This role is suited to someone with a strong customer service background in an engineering or technology business who can lead a team, manage competing priorities, and communicate confidently with customers about technical issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee remote and onsite troubleshooting, installation, commissioning, calibration, maintenance, repairs, and customer training.
  • Supervise and, where required, carry out service activities at customer locations.
  • Handle customer complaints and escalations promptly and professionally, coordinating the resources needed to resolve issues.
  • Maintain an effective service desk and improve how customer enquiries are prioritized, managed, and followed through.
  • Work closely with Controls engineering, production, and service teams in Italy and the relevant VJ Tech teams to resolve customer issues.
  • Partner with both sales teams to ensure installation and commissioning requirements are included in orders and scheduled promptly following delivery.
  • Support internal teams and customers with applications, service, and warranty enquiries.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly service reports covering team activities, outstanding issues, and service performance.
  • Maintain consistent technical service standards and identify opportunities to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Keep current with relevant industry standards, regulations, and testing methodologies.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
