Customer Services Manager

Location: Exeter (Office-Based)
Salary: £32,000 + Excellent Benefits

We are looking for an ambitious Customer Services Manager to lead and develop a high-performing customer service team, ensuring every customer receives exceptional support and a positive experience from start to finish.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys coaching people, solving problems, improving processes and taking ownership in a busy, customer-focused environment.

The Opportunity

As Customer Services Manager, you will take responsibility for leading, coaching and developing a dedicated customer service team.

  • Create a positive and supportive team environment while ensuring high standards of service, responsiveness and professionalism are consistently maintained.
  • Oversee day-to-day service delivery, monitor team performance, manage escalations and identify opportunities to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Work closely with internal teams, clients and external partners to resolve challenges quickly and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop the customer service team.
  • Create a positive team culture focused on great service and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage team performance against KPIs, SLAs and quality standards.
  • Provide regular coaching, mentoring and performance feedback.
  • Monitor workloads, team capacity and service delivery to ensure resources are effectively managed.
  • Handle complex customer queries and escalations with professionalism and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Encourage a phone-first approach to customer communication where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, colleagues, clients and external partners.
  • Use customer feedback, performance information and data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Support the development and improvement of customer service processes and procedures.
  • Ensure customers receive clear, proactive and professional communication throughout their journey.
  • Take ownership of issues and work collaboratively to achieve the best possible outcome.
