At Wates Residential, we're looking for a Customer Service Manager to join our London team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to join a customer-focused team, ensuring an outstanding service is delivered from handover through to the end of the warranty period and beyond.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct property inspections to identify defects, snagging items and quality concerns, ensuring issues are recorded, managed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Work closely with Site Teams and subcontractors to ensure defects and snagging items identified during pre-occupation and handover inspections are rectified to the required standard.
- Undertake end-of-defects inspections with Housing Association and Local Authority representatives, managing any agreed remedial works through to completion.
- Manage customer complaints effectively, identifying trends and implementing improvements to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Champion continuous improvement across customer service operations and supply chain performance.
- Ensure team compliance with company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders to ensure a positive customer experience throughout the warranty period.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
