Summary

Work
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
While this is a Customer Service Apprenticeship and includes a range of customer service and administrative responsibilities, the role also has a practical housekeeping element. The successful candidate will be expected to work alongside the housekeeping team and take part in cleaning duties at customer properties when required. Applicants should therefore be comfortable carrying out practical cleaning tasks as part of their role.
- Answer telephone and email enquiries from customers and applicants, providing a friendly and professional service.
- Book appointments and maintain accurate customer records and digital systems.
- Support customer onboarding, feedback collection and general customer care activities.
- Assist with recruitment administration, interview arrangements and onboarding paperwork.
- Carry out general office administration and support the day-to-day running of the business.
- Work alongside the housekeeping team and actively support the delivery of cleaning and housekeeping services at customer properties when required.
- Carry out practical cleaning and housekeeping duties to help ensure customer properties are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and presentation.
- Support housekeeping operations by preparing cleaning equipment and supplies, completing stock checks and ensuring teams have what they need to deliver services effectively.
- Develop an understanding of cleaning procedures, health and safety requirements, appropriate use of cleaning products and the standards expected when working within customer properties.
- Communicate professionally with customers while working both in the office and at customer properties, responding appropriately to their needs and expectations.
- Work flexibly across both the customer service/administrative and practical housekeeping sides of the business, recognising that both are important parts of delivering an excellent customer experience.
- Maintain professional communication and a positive attitude when working with customers, colleagues and managers.

What you'll learn
- Use a range of questioning skills, including listening and responding in a way that builds rapport, determines customer needs and expectations and achieves positive engagement and delivery.
- Use appropriate verbal and non-verbal communication skills, along with summarising language during face-to-face communications; and/or
- Use appropriate communication skills, along with reinforcement techniques (to confirm understanding) during non-facing customer interactions.
- Use an appropriate ‘tone of voice’ in all communications, including written and digital, that reflect the organisation’s brand.
- Provide clear explanations and offer options in order to help customers make choices that are mutually beneficial to both the customer and your organisation.
- Be able to organise yourself, prioritise your own workload/activity and work to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrate patience and calmness.
- Show you understand the customer’s point of view.
- Use appropriate sign-posting or resolution to meet your customers needs and manage expectations.
- Maintain informative communication during service recovery.
