About Us
The Home Shutter Company is the fastest growing and most trusted window shutter company in the UK. We've been doing this since 2017, and we run our own production line and showroom. We're a family business, and it shows in how we work - we look after our customers properly, from the first enquiry through to years after installation.
The Role
Once a customer has placed an order, they need to hear from someone. That's this role.
You'll be the main point of contact for customers after they've bought their shutters - keeping them updated on their order, booking in installations, and handling anything that comes up afterwards. You'll work closely with our production team, surveyors, and fitters to make sure everyone knows what's happening and when.
What You'll Be Doing
- Keeping customers informed on order progress, from confirmation through to fitting
- Booking and coordinating installation appointments with our fitting team
- Handling aftercare queries - from simple questions to following up on issues after fitting
- Managing complaints calmly and fairly, working to put things right
- Answering inbound calls and emails with a friendly, professional manner
- Liaising between customers, surveyors, production, and installers to keep everyone aligned
- Keeping accurate records of orders, bookings, and customer communications
- Spotting recurring issues and flagging them to the wider team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
