Customer Service & Order Processing Administrator

Location: Irlam office (4 days office-based, 1 day hybrid following successful probation)

Salary: £26,000

Contract: Full-time

The Opportunity

We are looking for an organised, proactive and customer-focused administrator to join a growing business. This varied role combines customer service, order processing and general administration, supporting customers from initial enquiry through to successful order completion.

This opportunity would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is confident using online systems and takes pride in providing excellent service while maintaining high levels of accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

  • Respond to customer enquiries via email and online chat.
  • Assist with product, order and delivery queries.
  • Deliver friendly, professional and efficient customer support.
  • Resolve routine issues and escalate more complex queries when required.
  • Follow up quotations, enquiries and outstanding customer requests.
  • Build and maintain positive customer relationships.

Order Processing

  • Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify customer and delivery information before orders are completed.
  • Review order confirmations and manage bespoke customer requirements.
  • Support the product returns process.

Administration

  • Provide general administrative support across the business.
  • Maintain accurate customer and supplier records.
  • Update information across internal systems.
  • Assist with purchase orders and supplier administration.
  • Support stock and product data management.
  • Contribute to process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer experience.

About You

We're looking for someone who is reliable, personable and eager to learn. You should have:

  • Previous experience in administration, customer service, order processing or a similar role.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to customer service.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team.

Experience within an e-commerce, online retail or order fulfilment environment would be beneficial but is not essential.

In this role, you will:

  • Process orders accurately and on time.
  • Deliver prompt and helpful customer support.
  • Ensure customers are kept informed throughout their order journey.
  • Identify and resolve issues proactively.
  • Maintain accurate records and systems.
  • Become a dependable member of the wider team.
