Customer Service Representative

Location: Leeds, UK

What will you be doing?

As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for customers, delivering a high-quality service whilst ensuring enquiries and orders are managed efficiently and professionally.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing support to customers across multiple countries and regions, ensuring a consistent and high-quality customer experience.
  • Building strong relationships with international customers and internal stakeholders across the wider Farnell business.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams globally to resolve customer queries and support business objectives.
  • Managing customer communications across different markets, cultures and business environments.
  • Responding to customer enquiries via phone, email and other communication channels.
  • Processing and managing customer orders, including order tracking, expediting critical orders and communicating order updates.
  • Supporting customers with stock availability queries, returns, invoicing and discrepancy resolution.
  • Investigating and resolving customer issues and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintaining accurate customer records and activity within CRM and internal systems.
  • Contributing to process improvement initiatives and identifying opportunities to enhance customer service performance.
  • Supporting reporting activities and maintaining accurate documentation and records.

We're looking for someone who is customer-focused, proactive and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

You'll ideally have:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer service, customer support or customer-facing role.
  • Experience using CRM systems to manage customer interactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications and business systems.
  • A proactive approach and commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently whilst also collaborating effectively within a team.

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with customers, colleagues or stakeholders across international markets.
  • Previous experience within a distribution, supply chain, manufacturing or technology-related environment.
  • Additional language skills would be advantageous.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GCSEs or equivalent qualification.
