About The Role

The Customer Experience Specialist role at Motability Operations offers a unique opportunity to make a genuine difference in people's lives during some of their most important moments. Unlike traditional customer service positions, this role emphasizes personalized, empathetic engagement without reliance on scripts or one-size-fits-all responses. From day one, you will be entrusted with real responsibility, handling a diverse range of customer interactions that may involve complex, emotional, or challenging situations. Your primary goal will be to listen attentively, understand each customer's individual needs, and make informed decisions that deliver positive outcomes. You will be expected to manage conversations with professionalism, resilience, and empathy, often dealing with frustrated or anxious customers while maintaining composure and confidence. This role requires a proactive, adaptable individual who is committed to providing outstanding service and continuously improving their skills within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will demonstrate resilience, adaptability, confidence, and exceptional communication skills. You should be able to remain calm under pressure and build trust quickly with customers. Experience in a customer-facing role is essential, along with strong relationship-building abilities and the capacity to handle challenging conversations with professionalism and empathy. You must be confident in managing objections, managing expectations, and explaining complex information clearly and respectfully. Emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and a genuine desire to help people are crucial attributes. Additionally, you should be comfortable navigating emotionally charged situations and recovering quickly from difficult interactions. Previous experience in customer service or similar roles will be highly advantageous, along with a proactive attitude and a drive to achieve positive results.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
