Customer Service Advisor / Order Processor

Location: Chelmsford - rural location- access to own vehicle is desired.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm, plus every other Saturday

Salary: £12.80 an hour

Contract: Temporary with the opportunity for a permanent contract

Adecco are delighted to be recruiting for a Customer Service Advisor/ Order Processor on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced, customer-focused business where no two days are the same.

As the first point of contact for customers, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional customer experience. Working within a busy customer service team, you will manage enquiries via email, phone, live chat and instant messaging, ensuring all customer queries are handled efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for customers, providing a professional and friendly service at all times.
  • Manage a high volume of customer enquiries via email, telephone, live chat and instant messaging.
  • Investigate and resolve customer queries relating to orders, deliveries, returns and products.
  • Provide product information and recommendations to support customer needs.
  • Handle customer complaints effectively, identifying suitable resolutions within company guidelines.
  • Prioritise workload to ensure all enquiries are responded to within agreed service levels.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and update internal systems accordingly.
  • Ensure all customer data is handled confidentially and in accordance with GDPR regulations.
  • Liaise with internal departments to resolve customer issues and provide timely updates.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience within a customer service or customer support role.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and customer service systems.
  • Positive, proactive and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when handling complaints or challenging situations.
