Customer Services Information Assistant
RCN London HQ, 35 hours, fixed term contract until 31 March 2027
£37,191 per annum (including London weighting)
There is more to the RCN than you might think. We’re a trade union with a membership of over half a million nurses, midwives, nursing support workers and students. We support their practice, represent them, lobby on their behalf, and develop them. We exist to make a positive difference – to the working lives of our members and ultimately to standards in patient care. Our employees are drawn from many walks of life – we are nurses, marketers and communicators, administrators, IT professionals, policy and finance experts, lawyers… together we are so much more. We couldn’t do what we do without our people.
The role
As a Customer Services Information Assistant you’ll use your positive attitude and your knowledge of customer services skills to deliver an exceptional service to our members.
In this varied role every day will be filled with possibilities. You will get involved in anything from overseeing the smooth running of the library space to managing our graduate trainees. We'll look to you to help us deliver an exceptional customer service enquiry service. It's a great way to build on your skills and experience and develop your potential.
The person
As well as exceptional customer service, to join us you’ll need knowledge of supporting and training others.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
