Our client is a specialist freight forwarder providing time-critical European road transport and worldwide air freight solutions to businesses across a range of sectors.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Road Freight Sales & Customer Service Executive to join their dedicated operations team, supporting customer relationships and delivering high-quality freight solutions.


Remuneration & Benefits

  • Salary: £28,000 base salary per annum, plus twice-yearly bonus opportunities, annual employee ownership bonus, and attendance-based bonuses.
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 to 17:00
  • On-call: Remote weekend on-call duties required after training, approximately 1 weekend every 2 months, with additional payment provided.
  • Annual leave: 23 days plus bank holidays. Bank holiday working paid at double time with an additional day in lieu.
  • Benefits: Workplace pension scheme and Employee Assistance Programme for employees and immediate family members.

Position Overview

The Customer Service/Sales Advisor will support customers with time-critical European transport solutions, managing enquiries, sourcing transport options, and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers.


Key Responsibilities Include

  • Responding to customer enquiries via telephone and email, providing accurate freight quotations and solutions.
  • Liaising with UK and European transport partners to secure competitive pricing and reliable transport options.
  • Managing shipments from enquiry through to delivery, ensuring accurate documentation and communication.
  • Building relationships with new and existing customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Negotiating with customers and suppliers to achieve the best commercial outcomes.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating internal systems.
  • Supporting customs requirements and wider operational activities where required.

Position Requirements

  • Experience within a fast-paced sales, customer service, or freight environment.
  • Confident telephone manner with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with customers and suppliers.
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and commercially driven approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good IT Skills, Including Microsoft Office And Web-based Systems.

Desirable

  • European language skills.
  • Knowledge of European geography.
  • Understanding of customs formalities relating to European transport.
