Customer & Shopper Marketing Manager
Salary: Up to £65,000 + car allowance
Location: Cambridgeshire
Office Working: Hybrid - 3 days per week in the office
About the Role
FMCG | Customer Strategy | Shopper Activation | Commercial Growth
We’re looking for a commercially minded Customer & Shopper Marketing Manager to translate brand strategy into impactful customer plans that drive brand visibility, shopper conversion, and sustainable growth.
Working closely with Sales, Marketing, and Category, you’ll shape customer and channel strategies, strengthen retailer partnerships, and ensure marketing investment delivers measurable commercial returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop annual customer and shopper marketing strategies, translating brand objectives into effective activation plans.
- Use shopper, consumer, category, and retailer insights to identify growth opportunities and prioritize investment.
- Lead activation across Grocery, Convenience, Wholesale, Foodservice, Out-of-Home, and International channels.
- Oversee retailer media, in-store, online, and digital campaigns, including POS, sampling, and experiential activity.
- Build strong retailer, media, and agency relationships, developing compelling customer propositions.
- Manage marketing budgets, define KPIs, measure ROI, and continually optimize performance.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure activity is commercially aligned, operationally achievable, and executed to a high standard.
- Develop best-practice ways of working, strengthening the link between brand strategy and customer execution.

About You
- 5+ years’ FMCG experience in Customer, Shopper, or Trade Marketing.
- Strong understanding of UK Grocery and major retailers, ideally with an established retailer and agency network.
- Proven experience developing customer and channel strategies across in-store, retailer media, and digital activation.
- Strong commercial acumen, including budget management, investment prioritization, and ROI measurement.
- Confident using data and insight to identify opportunities and influence decisions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills.
- Food and drink experience and exposure to wider channels would be advantageous.
