Customer Architect
Location: Plymouth/Hybrid (expectation of 2-days per week in office or on-site with customer)
Salary: Starting up to £55,000 p.a. (DOE)
Contract Type: Full Time, Permanent (37 hours per week)

The Opportunity
As a trusted advisor, you’ll work closely with customer IT leaders to understand their goals, priorities, and strategies, translating their requirements into solution design and strategic action. By building strong relationships, you’ll guide them in developing technology roadmaps that align with their objectives and prepare them for the future.
Internally, you’ll be the customer’s voice, ensuring we fully understand their infrastructure, applications, data, and future aspirations. Your insights will influence Delt’s own technology roadmap and ensure our solutions deliver real impact. Whether designing innovative solutions or driving key changes, your contributions will help turn our customers’ visions into reality.

- Build deep, trusted relationships with customers, acting as their advocate and technical guide.
- Partner with customers to develop and refine their IT strategies, ensuring alignment with future trends and business needs.
- Keep Delt aligned with customer requirements by maintaining a clear understanding of their technology stack, strategies, and objectives.
- Lead the design of tailored solutions, working with Delt teams to create practical and impactful proposals.
- Simplify complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for audiences at all levels, from front-line staff to C-suite leaders.
- Delivering, supporting, and managing IT governance practices to ensure quality and compliance throughout design and delivery.
Key Skills & Competencies
We’re seeking an individual with a strong technical foundation, strategic mindset, and exceptional communication skills.
Essential:
- Proven experience in technical leadership roles such as solutions or enterprise architecture, service delivery, or program management.
- A holistic understanding of how different technologies integrate to align with business goals.
- Exceptional communication skills, particularly in translating technical concepts into business value for senior leaders.
- Strong relationship-building skills with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Solid understanding of core technical infrastructure, Microsoft 365, and both public and private cloud environments.

Desirable:
- Certifications in architecture, service management, project management or change management.
- Experience in designing and implementing technical or service-based solutions, ideally within an IT managed service environment.
- Expertise in workshop facilitation, problem solving, solution design, and fostering innovation and collaboration.
- Confidence in challenging technical teams to deliver optimal results for customers.
