The Role
The Customer Success Engineer (CSE) serves as the technical partner to customers post-sale, ensuring successful onboarding, adoption, and long-term value realization. This role bridges Customer Success, Professional Services, Product, and Engineering, with a strong focus on Salesforce-based integrations, data models, and workflow optimization. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with customer-facing communication and is passionate about driving measurable business outcomes. This role is critical in ensuring customers not only adopt the product but fully operationalize it within their Salesforce ecosystem. The Customer Success Engineer is a trusted technical advisor who directly impacts customer retention, expansion, and long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Enablement & Adoption
- Partner with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) to support onboarding, implementations, and ongoing technical success
- Translate customer business requirements into scalable technical solutions within Salesforce and related systems
- Guide customers on best practices for configuration, automation, and system design to maximize product value
- Support customer health initiatives by identifying technical risks and proactively driving resolution

Salesforce & Technical Ownership
- Configure and optimize Salesforce objects, fields, flows, validations, and automations
- Design and support integrations between Salesforce and third-party systems (APIs, middleware, data sync)
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues related to data integrity, performance, and system behavior
- Maintain technical documentation including solution designs, configurations, and integration diagrams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal Product, Engineering, and Support teams
- Provide feedback to Product on customer use cases, technical gaps, and enhancement opportunities
- Support pre-renewal and expansion efforts by validating technical feasibility and scalability
Value & Outcomes
- Help customers achieve defined success metrics and ROI through technical enablement
- Participate in Executive Business Reviews (EBRs) by contributing technical insights and roadmap alignment
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimization, and technical expansion
Qualifications
- Prior SaaS, Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, Packaging, or Supply Chain industry experience required
- Minimum 2-3 years in a relevant Customer Engineering Support, Implementation, or Success role
- Salesforce.com knowledge required (Active Administrator credential required; Advanced Admin, Platform App Builder, or Developer preferred)
- Be an active learner
- Ability to manage multiple customers' task prioritization (i.e., holistic approach)
- The desire to dive head first into an early-stage technology environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, email, and organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Highly accountable
- Time management with respect to managing multiple projects at once
- Fast learner, team player, can-do attitude, highly organized, execution-oriented, problem solver
- Positive and inquisitive attitude
- Ability to provide technical solutions for medium to high complexity projects
