Overview
Microsoft Finance Organization Purpose
Microsoft Customers & Partners Solutions (MCAPS) Finance drives shareholder value across subsidiaries and carries local accountability for financial performance, statutory and compliance matters across segments and products. The function lands the company vision around business transformation, consumption, customer orientation, and AI-led growth; drives strategic resource allocation through local insights; builds trust with customers and shareholders in a compliant way; and empowers finance talent to operate as part of high-performing, diverse teams.
Microsoft UKI Context
Microsoft UKI is a dual subsidiary (UK & Ireland) area within EMEA. The UKI Finance team partners with sales, customer success, services, business groups, and marketing teams to drive sustainable growth, governance, and actionable business insight. The UKI Commercial Finance Director leads the Commercial Finance team at the center of the UKI finance leadership rhythm, connecting the total UKI commercial business across the account (ATU), specialist (STU), and Customer Success (CSU) motions, while staying connected to EMEA, worldwide finance, SE&O, compliance, Deal Desk, and product-controller communities to land consistent, high-quality execution.
Role Purpose
The Customer Success Finance Manager partners across the MCAPS sales teams (ATU, STU, and CSU) to drive business impact and support growth. The role ensures that all finance rhythms are run efficiently, effectively, and to a high standard, and combines people leadership with individual-contributor delivery in direct support of the UK & Ireland CFO.
The role business-partners with the STU lead and their leadership team, providing finance insight across all areas and influences across senior stakeholders. It stays closely connected to the wider finance team and to adjacent functions—including compliance and Deal Desk—and beyond into the CE lead and SE&O. The role is accountable for driving frontier finance through the evolving use of AI across the team, to deliver improved insight and a faster pace to action.
Responsibilities
Business Partnership and Growth
- Drive the UKI business conversation through insightful and actionable analytics across the business—through the team and directly as required.
- Drive growth strategy across all products and all sales units (ATU, STU, and CSU), ensuring every line of revenue is managed across the rhythm of business and clearly communicated.
- Drive messaging on financial performance with clarity on the call to action across the business, and ensure the infrastructure is in place to deliver.
- Guide others to contribute to budget, reporting, and recurring business-review processes, and manage the rhythm of business for the area of responsibility, coaching the team to leverage relationships and support complex commercial negotiations.
- Share insights and advance solutions to drive business goals and short-term accountabilities, applying an understanding of the broader Microsoft context to ensure objectives are met and to proactively mitigate the effects of external risks.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
