Clumber Consultancy supports employees through redundancy – managing their claims, chasing what they're owed, and making sure they're treated as people, not case numbers. We're looking for someone to own that relationship from first contact to resolution.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR – ABOUT YOU
A People Person
You like people. Not as a professional skill – genuinely. You'd rather call than email, you remember what a client mentioned last week, and you understand that the person on the other end of the phone is dealing with something stressful. Our clients are employees navigating redundancy, often without much support. Warmth isn't something you switch on – it's just how you operate.
Energetic
You bring energy. Not loud for the sake of it – but engaged, switched on, and part of what makes a team feel like a team. You're communicative with clients and colleagues alike, you don't disappear, and you notice when someone needs a hand and you offer it without being asked.
Ownership
When something is yours, it's yours. You don't wait to be chased, you don't let things drift, and you don't pass the problem sideways. Underneath that ownership is real organisation – your files are tidy, your systems are current, and nothing sits long enough to become a problem. You stay on top of things because it matters to you, not because someone is watching.
Proactive
You're already thinking about tomorrow. You spot the thing that's about to become a problem before it does, and you'd rather deal with something early than explain later why you didn't. If something isn't working, you say so. If you spot a smarter way to do something, you raise it.
Caring
Not perfectionism – standards. You care that the work is good, that clients feel genuinely looked after, and that the people around you can rely on what you say you'll do. You take pride in what you put your name to.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Team Player
You see the team's performance as your business, not just your own. When your workload is manageable, you look around and offer – you don't wait to be asked. You share knowledge freely, cover without drama, and make the people around you better at their jobs. You understand that a caseload team only works when everyone pulls in the same direction.
