Customer Support & Operations Intern
Location: London - 3 days a week in our office (Somerset House)
Type: Part-time, paid

About Adia
Adia is on a mission to accelerate the decarbonisation of home heating by making heat pumps far easier to install. One of the latest ventures to emerge from the Carbon13 Venture Builder programme in Cambridge, we use AI and low-cost, easy-to-fit sensors to rapidly deploy digital twins of homes. Our technology measures and simulates room-by-room heat loss, energy usage and the fluid dynamics of wet heating loops, letting us predict and control system performance and optimise both the heat pump and the wet loop. The result: simpler, quicker installations, comfort in every room, and lower bills for homeowners.
The role
Being in a small team will mean you'll get a wide range of exposure with a focus on customer experience, production and technical operations. You'll be the first point of contact for customer enquiries. Day to day that means being the first person installers and homeowners come to and being the person that helps produce and distribute our products.

What you'll be doing
First-line support
- Handling inbound enquiries from homeowners and installers by email, ticket and phone.
- Get to know our system inside out (Adia Hub, valves, sensors etc) so you can diagnose and fix issues with confidence.
- Managing our CRM (Zoho) and working within our internal ticketing system.
- Triaging issues, resolving what you can, and escalating what you can't with a clear handover.
Production and technical operations
- Assisting with device assembly and production.
- Quality control on our Temperature Sensors and Flow Balancing Valves.
- 3D printing and workshop support.
- Preparing and flashing SD cards for our Thermal Hubs.

Support materials
- Helping produce guides, FAQs and troubleshooting materials for homeowners and installers.
- Feeding recurring customer issues back into our documentation and product team.
Requirements
- Strong communication skills.
- Proactive mindset: you anticipate issues and solve them before they grow into larger problems.
- Problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach.
- A genuine passion for sustainability and a commitment to driving change in the home heating industry.
Desirable but not essential
- Background in electronics.
- Soldering experience.
- Experience with 3D printing or small-batch production.
- An interest in and/or experience in plumbing.
