Overview

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded individual to join the team and build strong, strategic relationships with national wholesaler, one of our most important wholesale and convenience customers in the UK.

As part of the Team, you will take full ownership of a defined category portfolio across national wholesaler and associated symbol groups. You will be responsible for delivering joint business plans, strengthening senior and operational customer relationships and driving sustainable, profitable growth for both our business and the customer.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about customer partnership, execution excellence and commercial delivery. Success in this role will come from your ability to influence, collaborate and communicate effectively across a wide internal matrix and with a complex customer structure.

Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of the account for your category/categories across national wholesaler, including depots and relevant symbol groups.
  • Deliver commercial objectives through the creation and execution of robust Joint Business Plans that drive mutual growth.
  • Lead promotional planning and execution, ensuring strong depot, wholesale and retail activation in line with customer strategy.
  • Own the promotional calendar, managing internal and external changes and ensuring all systems, nominations and funding processes are completed accurately and on time.
  • Evaluate promotional performance, reviewing plans, identifying insights and course-correcting where required to optimise ROI.
  • Facilitate commercial decision-making through scenario planning, reviewing deal mechanics, funding levels and recommending solutions to maximise revenue, margin and in-market impact.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the client buying, category, trading and depot teams, acting as a trusted partner.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across internal teams including Shopper Marketing, Category, Finance, Supply Chain, Digital and Forecasting.
  • Ensure forecast accuracy, working closely with demand planning teams to reflect agreed activity and execution plans.
  • Role model collaborative behaviours, contributing positively to the wider account team culture and ways of working.
  • Manage a high performing team, with 3 direct NAMs reporting into you and a AE, People management skills are essential to continue to develop and guide a team to a common goal across the diverse channels Bestway service.

  • Proven Sales or Commercial experience, with demonstrable account ownership responsibility.
  • Strong preference for experience within Wholesale, Convenience, Cash & Carry or Symbol groups.
  • Solid commercial and analytical capability, with the ability to balance strategic thinking and day-to-day operational delivery.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to influence both internal stakeholders and customer partners.
  • Confident negotiator, capable of managing tactical negotiations as well as longer-term commercial agreements.
  • Highly organised, resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced trading environment.
  • A customer-centric, solutions-led mindset, with a drive to continuously improve execution and commercial performance.
