We're looking for a Customs Administrator to join our Winwick operation and support the smooth running of our international customs activities. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist customs knowledge, helping to ensure compliance with HMRC requirements while supporting the movement of international shipments through our network.
This role has been created to support current and future customs activity within Winwick and will play an important role in maintaining operational compliance and service excellence.
What you'll do
You'll provide administrative and customs support for import and export shipments, working closely with internal teams, suppliers, gateways, hauliers and external partners to ensure shipments move efficiently through the network.

- Monitor inbound arrivals against customer pre-alerts and tracking systems
- Review and validate customs data, including commodity codes, CPC codes, EORI numbers and supporting documentation
- Assist with the preparation and completion of customs entries for import and export clearances
- Support the resolution of customs entry queries and documentation requirements
- Liaise with agents, customers, consignees and customs partners
- Monitor forecast versus actual shipment volumes
- Book and optimise transport requirements in line with service level agreements
- Create collection and delivery documentation for hauliers
- Ensure shipments are collected and moved through the network to achieve delivery commitments
- Maintain accurate shipment records and daily operational reports
- Prepare and distribute vehicle load plans to operational teams
- Act as a key point of contact for hauliers, gateways, depots, hubs and third-party drivers
- Support transportation planning, route coordination and operational administration
- Assist with query resolution and general office administration
- Promote a safe working environment and comply with all company policies and procedures
- Provide ad hoc support to meet changing business requirements

What we're looking for
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and use initiative
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook
- Good written and verbal English skills
- Customs knowledge is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
