What You Can Expect:

  • Working within a team of dedicated Customs Declarants to process daily customs workloads on behalf of our customers.
  • Completing all types of customs declaration to the highest standard and customer satisfaction.
  • Creating, monitoring, and discharging NCTS transit documents to the highest standard and customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting the maintenance of ETSF inventories and other customs-warehousing related procedures.
  • Communicating with customers on a regular basis to provide output, transparency, and measure customer satisfaction.
  • Ensuring that all customs documentation produced meets all applicable laws and compliance standards.
  • Supporting the Customs Supervisor in the day-to-day operational running of the team and providing advice where required.
  • To report all complaints and compliance issues and ensure corrective action is taken.
  • Contribute regularly to continuous process improvements by sharing ideas, suggestions, issues, and solutions regularly with supervisors and management.

  • Monitor and proactively pick-up on incoming orders via all communication channels and systems.
  • Review supporting documents provided in relation to the required clearance to ensure customs clearances are compliant and in accordance with customs and company regulations.
  • Prepare and process import, export, and transit customs entries in accordance with customs regulations, laws, or procedures using provided customs software and monitoring pending clearances.
  • Calculate customs taxes owed on shipments where applicable.
  • Inform accounting team where applicable and support the collection of any debts.
  • Communicate with customers on any enquiries.
  • Liaise with HMRC regarding compliance issues as required in conjunction with supervisors and managers.
  • Support with administrative duties in relation to the recovery and finalization of clearances.
  • Create customer records in the database and ensure all required information and documentation (customers instructions, forms, applications etc) are accurately in place and take corrective action if required.
  • Execute compliance checks and report any irregularities, support with internal and external compliance audits.
  • Proactively follow up on training programmes.
  • Contribute to a healthy team spirit, respect and apply the values of the company, contribute to its vision and mission.
