Job Title: Cyber and Information Security Administrator

Salary: £29,650 - £40,000 per annum
Hours per week: 35 hours
Location: At IOSH, we embrace hybrid working because we believe it's the key to achieving work-life balance, strategic success and fostering our collaborative culture. You’ll be required to work from our head office in Wigston, Leicester Tuesday to Thursday with the remainder of your working hours being undertaken from home.

About the role

We are recruiting for an experienced and highly motivated Cyber and Information Security Administrator, within our small Technology team, to maintain and optimise our critical IT infrastructure. This role is responsible for monitoring, protecting, and improving the organisation’s cyber security position and information security capabilities. You will achieve this through proactive security monitoring, incident response, vulnerability management, risk assessment, and compliance activities. This role will also help ensure security controls, policies and operational processes align with our organisational requirements and recognised standards including Cyber Essentials, CIS and other appropriate frameworks.

What you'll bring

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with a wide range of knowledge of Microsoft environments, Server Operating Systems (including Microsoft Server 2019/2022) and Security and compliance tools such as Cisco Secure Access, NinjaOne, DLP and WSUS. You will be someone that has experience of working in the administration of Microsoft 365 Security and compliance centre as well as managing various technologies including Microsoft 365 -OneDrive, Teams, Exchange Online, and Azure AD. You will also have strong experience of information security systems and processes, including compliance with GDPR and the Cyber Essentials framework.

In addition to an experienced technical background, you will have the skills to address problems with a methodical approach and a positive attitude with a focus on ensuring efficient delivery to agreed deadlines. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are desired as you will be managing relationships with third parties and suppliers.

Essential criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Microsoft Server, Purview, VMware and wider cloud technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Centre, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Intune, and DLP
  • Understanding of TCP/IP routing, subnetting, NetApp storage, Cisco switching and firewalls.
  • Experience of information security systems and processes, including compliance with the GDPR and Cyber Essentials framework, ISO27001
  • Experience in administration of Microsoft 365 Security and compliance centre, privileged access, authentication controls and user lifecycle management.
  • Working knowledge of network and TCP/ IP Routing/ Subnetting and NAS connectivity
  • Knowledge of Cisco networking equipment - routing, switching, and Firewalls.
