Cyber Defence Trainee
Our volunteer programme provides an opportunity to gain practical experience and develop cybersecurity skills from scratch, while building a strong portfolio to showcase your knowledge and capabilities.
Cybersecurity is a growing field that requires practical skills and hands-on experience. Our volunteer program provides an opportunity to learn through real cybersecurity activities while working alongside experienced professionals.
At Bincom Global Volunteer Program, you’ll join a remote team where you’ll contribute to cybersecurity activities while learning from experienced professionals. The program focuses on practical exposure and collaborative learning. This supportive environment is designed to help you build practical skills and gain real-world experience, whether you’re a student, recent graduate, career changer, or self-taught learner.
What you’ll do
As a Cyber Defence Trainee, you will support ongoing cybersecurity activities, including:

- Supporting cybersecurity awareness campaigns and digital safety initiatives
- Researching emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security trends
- Assisting with security documentation, reports, and educational content
- Participating in supervised incident response and security testing exercises
- Supporting virtual workshops, meetups, and training sessions
- Collaborating with mentors and volunteers across different countries
Each of these tasks is designed to help you gradually build confidence while learning how real cybersecurity teams operate.
Who this is for
This opportunity is a good fit if you already have a basic understanding of cybersecurity, networking, or information security, and you’re curious about areas like ethical hacking, cyber defence, or digital forensics. More importantly, we’re looking for people who enjoy learning by doing and working with others in a structured environment. To be effective in this role, you should be able to commit at least 10 hours per week. No professional experience is required.

Program Benefits
