About the role

As an Assistant Manager within KPMG's Cyber & Digital Health team, you will play a key role in helping healthcare organisations strengthen cyber resilience, meet evolving regulatory requirements and deliver secure, technology-enabled transformation. You will work with NHS organisations, Integrated Care Systems and wider healthcare providers to improve cyber capability, manage technology risk and embed security into digital transformation programmes.

Working as part of our growing Cyber & Digital Health practice, you will lead and support complex healthcare cyber engagements, helping clients assess and improve cyber maturity, navigate DSPT-CAF requirements, strengthen governance and assurance frameworks, and build resilient digital health services.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead workstreams across healthcare cyber, DSPT-CAF assurance and digital health resilience engagements.
  • Conduct cyber maturity assessments, DSPT-CAF readiness reviews, resilience assessments and control effectiveness reviews across healthcare environments.
  • Support the development of cyber strategies, improvement plans, remediation roadmaps and future-state cyber operating models.
  • Assess governance, cyber risk, information governance and assurance arrangements across NHS and healthcare technology estates.
  • Advise on cyber risks and resilience considerations relating to Electronic Patient Records (EPRs), clinical systems, connected medical devices, third-party suppliers and critical healthcare services.
  • Produce high-quality client deliverables and recommendations with minimal supervision.
  • Support programme governance, assurance and reporting activities across complex transformation programmes.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities across clinical, operational, digital and executive teams.
  • Support EPR-enabled transformation programmes, including planning, deployment, adoption and optimisation activities.
  • Develop cyber improvement plans, regulatory evidence packs and executive reporting for healthcare clients.
  • Support business development, proposition development, thought leadership and practice growth activities.
  • Coach and mentor Analysts and Graduates within the Cyber & Digital Health team.

The person

We're looking for an individual who combines healthcare sector knowledge with strong cyber and digital transformation experience. You will be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, from technical specialists to executive leaders, and capable of translating complex cyber concepts into practical business outcomes.

You will be a proactive and collaborative team player who can take ownership of workstreams, build trusted client relationships and deliver high-quality outcomes within complex healthcare environments.

You will also be passionate about improving healthcare through technology, cyber resilience and innovation, with the drive to help grow a dynamic and rapidly evolving practice.

Skills we would love to see

  • 3+ years' experience delivering cyber security, digital transformation or healthcare technology engagements.
  • Strong understanding of NHS provider organisations, Integrated Care Boards, NHS England priorities and the healthcare cyber regulatory landscape.
  • Experience supporting EPR-enabled transformation programmes.
  • Experience delivering cyber security, assurance, remediation or resilience engagements within NHS Trusts, ICBs or other healthcare organisations.
  • Practical knowledge of DSPT-CAF, cyber resilience, healthcare cyber regulation, information governance and technology risk management.
  • Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical improvement plans, governance actions and executive-level recommendations.
  • Knowledge of healthcare technologies including EPRs, Ambient Voice Technology (AVT), virtual care platforms, integration technologies and emerging AI solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and executive presentation development skills.
  • Strong Excel and analytical capability.
  • Experience using GenAI and agentic AI tools to improve delivery efficiency, reporting and analysis.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.

Location

This role can be based from any KPMG UK office, with regular travel to client sites as required. Candidates should be willing to travel across the UK and, on occasion, internationally, including periods of time away from home when required by client engagements.
