Cyber & Information Security Manager
Peterborough - Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)
£50,000 - £60,000
VIQU has partnered with a growing organisation seeking a Cyber & Information Security Manager to support the ongoing development of its cyber and information security capability. Working closely with the Strategic Engineering Lead (acting CISO), you'll take ownership of day-to-day governance, risk and compliance activities, helping to strengthen the organisation's security maturity through the continual improvement of security frameworks, policies and processes. This role offers a blend of Information Security (GRC) and Cyber Security, with a greater emphasis on governance, risk and compliance, requiring enough technical understanding to work effectively with IT teams and suppliers without being a hands-on engineering position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the Information Security Management System (ISMS) and support the continual improvement of cyber and information security across the organisation.
- Manage security governance, risk assessments, risk registers and remediation activities.
- Develop, maintain and improve security policies, standards and procedures in line with recognised security frameworks.
- Support and coordinate ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and other security audit and compliance activities.
- Work closely with IT and technical teams to strengthen security controls and reduce organisational risk.
- Coordinate security incidents, ensuring appropriate investigation, reporting and lessons learned.
- Manage supplier and third-party security assurance activities.
- Deliver security awareness initiatives and promote a positive security culture across the organisation.
- Provide regular reporting on cyber and information security risks, compliance and maturity to senior stakeholders.

Key Requirements:
- Previous experience within a Cyber Security, Information Security or Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) role.
- Strong experience across information security governance, risk management, compliance and security assurance.
- Good knowledge of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and security frameworks such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and NIST.
- Experience maintaining and improving security policies, standards, procedures and risk registers.
- Experience supporting security audits, compliance activities and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of UK GDPR and data protection principles.
- Experience managing supplier and third-party security risk.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across both technical and non-technical teams.
- Sufficient technical cyber security knowledge to engage with engineers and suppliers, although this is not a hands-on engineering role.
- Experience working within a regulated environment would be advantageous.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor would be beneficial.
