Are you a naturally curious and analytical thinker with a passion for uncovering insights from complex information? Do you enjoy researching, connecting the dots and identifying patterns that others might miss? If so, this could be the ideal opportunity to develop your career within one of the UK's leading regional organised crime units.
We're looking for a Cyber Intelligence Researcher to join the Force Cyber Crime Unit (FCCU) within SEROCU, providing vital intelligence support in the identification of cyber threats, risks and harms across the South East region.
About the Role
As a Cyber Intelligence Researcher, you'll play a key role in supporting investigations into cyber-enabled and cyber-dependent crime. Working with intelligence systems and a wide range of policing partners, you'll research, analyse and evaluate information to produce intelligence products that help identify offenders, support operational activity and disrupt organised crime groups.
You'll be responsible for identifying emerging trends, crime patterns and risks, producing high-quality intelligence briefings, and ensuring intelligence is shared effectively with partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Research, analyse and evaluate information to produce intelligence products
- Identify emerging trends, crime patterns and risks
- Support investigations into cyber-enabled and cyber-dependent crime
- Ensure intelligence is shared effectively with partners and stakeholders
Requirements
Previous experience within intelligence, information management, policing or law enforcement environments would be beneficial, but we're equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills gained in other sectors.
Additionally, we need someone who has:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to research, analyse and interpret information effectively
- Ability to work independently and is highly organised with the ability to prioritise
- Strong IT skills
You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. For this reason a full UK Driving Licence is essential to the role. You will also be required to perform on-call arrangements for immediate response as required across the South East region

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
