Cyber Presales Consultant

£60,000 base OTE £68,000–£72,000

Location: Home based, with occasional travel to customer sites and our Shoreham office

Focus Group is a £300m-revenue, 1,400-person technology services company backed by Hg Capital. Following our $1bn valuation in 2024, we're scaling rapidly and investing in AI to transform how we operate and how we serve our 30,000 SME customers.

Our Presales team provides technical solutions to new and existing customers across networking, cloud and server infrastructure, and cyber resilience — mainly built around Microsoft 365 and Azure. As our Cyber Presales Consultant, you'll be the presales subject matter expert on our cyber security portfolio, working directly with clients to define requirements, design solutions and present them with confidence. This role is central to establishing Focus Group as a Presales centre of excellence within the MSP/MSSP sector.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What you'll do

  • Provide technical support throughout the sales cycle, from first conversation to close
  • Run discovery calls, workshops and technical assessments with customers
  • Design technically robust, commercially sound cyber security solutions, fully validated before they go to the customer
  • Present solutions confidently, articulating business value and cost savings
  • Own technical documentation: designs, network diagrams, statements of work
  • Lead or co-lead RFP responses, with compelling technical and commercial proposals
  • Act as presales subject matter expert on Focus Group's cyber product portfolio

What we're looking for

  • Real depth in cyber security presales or technical consultancy specifically, ideally within an MSP or managed security services environment
  • The confidence to be the most technically credible person in the room on security, not a generalist who also covers security
  • Direct, hands-on experience scoping and presenting SOC services, penetration testing and vulnerability scanning as part of customer solutions
  • Strong command of Microsoft 365 (including Defender), MDR/EDR and firewall technologies
  • Working exposure to Cloudflare One and to compliance and certification frameworks, including Cyber Essentials/CE+, as a baseline expectation rather than a bonus
  • Skilled at translating risk and technical detail for a business owner who isn't security-literate, without losing substance for a technical stakeholder
  • A history of writing commercial proposals that hold up to scrutiny on design and pricing, ideally including RFPs where security was the deciding factor
