About The Role

The Opportunity

A leading organisation operating within critical infrastructure is seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst to join its growing cybersecurity team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in protecting essential services while helping the organisation navigate an evolving regulatory landscape and increasingly sophisticated cyber threats. The successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) development, regulatory compliance, security operations, and emerging technology risks, including Artificial Intelligence (AI). The Cybersecurity Analyst will be instrumental in supporting the organisation’s cybersecurity strategy by enhancing compliance, improving security maturity, and embedding effective cyber risk management practices across various departments. The role involves working closely with technical teams, management, and external stakeholders to ensure the organisation’s security posture aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Qualifications

We are looking for cybersecurity professionals who demonstrate a solid understanding of information security principles and possess relevant experience in the field. Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in Cybersecurity, Information Security, IT Risk, Governance, or Information Assurance
  • Knowledge of security disciplines such as Risk Management, Access Controls, Network Security, Threat Detection & Monitoring, and Incident Response
  • Familiarity with regulatory or compliance frameworks including CAF, NIS/NIS2, ISO 27001, GDPR, or other governance standards
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • A genuine interest in emerging technologies and the impact of AI on cybersecurity
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or ISO 27001 Lead Implementer are advantageous but not mandatory

Responsibilities

The Cybersecurity Analyst will be responsible for a diverse set of tasks aimed at strengthening the organisation’s security posture. Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting cybersecurity compliance activities aligned to UK and European regulatory frameworks, maintaining documentation, evidence repositories, and control registers
  • Assisting with security incident reporting processes and ensuring regulatory obligations are met effectively
  • Monitoring emerging guidance and regulations, assessing their impact on the organisation, and recommending necessary adjustments
  • Participating in assessments against recognised cybersecurity frameworks such as CAF, identifying improvement opportunities and supporting remediation activities
  • Developing evidence packs, improvement plans, and assurance documentation to demonstrate compliance and security maturity
  • Collaborating with technical and operational teams to embed security best practices across the organisation
  • Supporting the secure adoption of AI technologies by conducting risk assessments and security reviews of emerging innovations
  • Contributing to the development of data protection, governance, and responsible AI use policies
  • Monitoring emerging cyber threats related to AI and raising awareness across the organisation
  • Supporting security monitoring, vulnerability management, incident response, and cyber risk assessments
  • Assisting with third-party security reviews and developing security policies, standards, and awareness initiatives
