About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst to join a major NHS organization on a remote, outside IR35 basis, supporting a critical digital transformation programme. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the protection of vital healthcare systems, ensuring the security and integrity of sensitive data and operational infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying, investigating, and mitigating cyber threats within a complex enterprise environment. Working closely with technical and security teams, you will help strengthen the organization's cyber resilience and compliance posture, supporting ongoing security initiatives and incident response activities.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in cybersecurity within healthcare or similar environments, with a strong understanding of security operations. Certifications such as AZ-500, SSCP, or other Microsoft Security certifications are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with security frameworks, incident response processes, and advanced threat detection tools. A background working within NHS or healthcare settings is advantageous, along with hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, SIEM, EDR, and NDR solutions. Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential for effective investigation and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond promptly to security incidents, alerts, and vulnerabilities across the enterprise environment.
  • Investigate cybersecurity alerts and anomalies to determine their severity and impact.
  • Utilize Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE) for threat analysis, remediation, and vulnerability management.
  • Manage Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and Network Detection and Response (NDR) alert activities to identify potential threats.
  • Support and coordinate cyber incident response procedures, including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
  • Assist in conducting security investigations, documenting findings, and preparing detailed reports for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and compliance activities.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to improve cyber resilience, implement best practices, and enhance threat detection capabilities.
  • Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to proactively defend organizational assets.
