Cyber Security Analyst – Consultancy

Location: Any office (UK)
Reporting to: Head of Cyber Security

Ready to build your career in Cyber Security?

We’re looking for a Cyber Security Analyst to join our Consultancy Team within Air IT Group's Cyber Security Services function. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone with a solid foundation in IT or cyber security who’s ready to take the next step into a consultancy-focused role. You’ll work directly with customers, helping them understand, achieve and maintain Cyber Essentials compliance while developing your own technical and consultancy skills along the way.

As your experience grows, you’ll have the opportunity to become an IASME-certified Cyber Essentials Assessor, progress towards Cyber Essentials Plus Assessor level and develop your knowledge across other areas of offensive security.

What you’ll be doing

You'll take ownership of Cyber Essentials consultancy engagements from start to finish, including:

  • Advising customers on achieving and maintaining Cyber Essentials compliance
  • Conducting Cyber Essentials assessments once qualified as an IASME-certified CE Assessor
  • Managing and prioritising multiple customer projects
  • Providing clear, well-grounded cyber security advice that customers can understand and put into practice
  • Building strong relationships with customers, from senior decision-makers through to end users
  • Continuing to develop your wider cyber security knowledge and practical skillset

What we’re looking for

You’ll have at least two years’ experience in IT, cyber security or a related field, alongside a good understanding of the technologies commonly used within SMEs. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Familiarity with security technologies including firewalls, email/web filtering, EDR and SIEM platforms
  • Strong working knowledge of identity platforms including Active Directory and Entra ID
  • Familiarity with networking protocols including TCP/IP, HTTP and DNS
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence communicating technical information to different audiences
  • The ability to manage and prioritise your own workload
  • A full, valid UK driving licence, as occasional customer site visits will be required
  • The ability to travel to an Air IT office when required, in line with our hybrid working policy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

It would be great, but isn’t essential, if you also have:

  • Knowledge or experience of delivering specialist offensive security services
  • A degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related subject
  • Previous experience carrying out phishing or social engineering assessments

Why this role?

If you’ve already built a strong foundation in IT or cyber security and want to move further into cyber consultancy, this is a great opportunity to do just that. You’ll gain hands-on customer experience, develop recognised Cyber Essentials assessment skills and have the opportunity to progress into Cyber Essentials Plus and wider offensive security specialisms as your career develops. And because Air is built around people, you’ll have space to learn, ask questions and develop. You’ll be encouraged to share ideas and improve the way things are done—whether you’re tuning alerts, creating documentation, or recommending smarter controls.
