About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join our client's team on a 6-month contract basis. This remote role, based primarily outside of IR35, offers flexibility while requiring onsite presence in Central London once a week. The primary focus of this position is to support day-to-day security operations, particularly in managing security alerts, conducting investigations, and overseeing vulnerability management. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in SIEM platforms, vulnerability assessment tools, and incident response processes. This role is vital in maintaining the organization's security posture, ensuring swift identification and mitigation of potential threats, and supporting ongoing security initiatives.
Qualifications
The successful candidate should demonstrate relevant experience and skills, including:
- Proven hands-on experience with Rapid7 and SIEM platforms, including alert monitoring and investigation.
- Strong background in alert triage, security investigations, and vulnerability management.
- Extensive experience with Mimecast administration, including email review, releasing, whitelisting, and sandboxing.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Purview, eDiscovery, DSAR, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) practices.
- Experience managing CrowdStrike alerts and endpoint security solutions.
- Familiarity with Netskope or similar cloud security platforms, including site reviews and URL unblocking.
- Understanding of Security Operations Center (SOC) processes and security best practices.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills to maintain accurate records of investigations and security activities.

Responsibilities
The Cyber Security Analyst will be responsible for a range of critical security functions, including:
- Monitoring, triaging, and investigating alerts generated by Rapid7 and SIEM platforms, with a focus on reducing existing alert backlogs.
- Conducting thorough security investigations by analyzing events and identifying potential threats or suspicious activities.
- Supporting vulnerability management efforts by reviewing, prioritizing, and investigating vulnerabilities using Rapid7.
- Monitoring security events through SIEM tools, escalating incidents as necessary to ensure prompt response.
- Managing Mimecast security operations, including email review, releasing quarantined messages, whitelisting, and sandboxing to prevent threats.
- Assisting with Microsoft Purview activities such as eDiscovery, Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) initiatives.
- Handling Netskope requests, including site reviews and URL unblocking to maintain secure cloud access.
- Triage and monitor alerts from CrowdStrike, ensuring endpoint security is maintained.
- Providing administrative support for Security Due Diligence Questions (DDQs) and other information security requests.
- Maintaining detailed records of investigations and security procedures to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
