About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Analyst to join a busy NHS organization on a contract basis. This hybrid role based in Cardiff offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic security team during a period of increased demand. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Monitoring and investigating security alerts
- Responding to security incidents
- Supporting vulnerability management activities
A key focus will be maintaining the security of a Microsoft-based environment, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Sentinel. This position provides an excellent chance for a proactive security professional to contribute to safeguarding critical healthcare infrastructure and data.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Previous experience working as a Cyber Security Analyst
- Strong background in security monitoring and incident response
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Sentinel for alert investigation and incident management
- Good understanding of Microsoft security technologies, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft 365 security controls
- Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus or similar platforms
- Solid understanding of core security principles, including threat detection, risk management, and incident response
- Strong communication skills
Responsibilities
- Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents within Microsoft Sentinel.
- Manage cyber security tickets, service requests, and day-to-day operational security activities.
- Analyze suspicious activity and escalate potential threats where appropriate.
- Support vulnerability management and remediation activities across the organization.
- Assist with incident response, security investigations, and cyber improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with end users to provide security advice and support, fostering a security-aware culture.
