About The Role
The Cyber Security Analyst role is a critical position within the organization, focused on maintaining and enhancing the company's security posture. This 6-month contract position offers the flexibility of remote work with the requirement to be onsite once a week in Central London. The primary responsibilities include supporting day-to-day security operations, managing alert triage, conducting security investigations, and overseeing vulnerability management activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in SIEM platforms, vulnerability assessment tools, and security incident response processes. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a proactive security professional to contribute to a dynamic team, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational information assets.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in cybersecurity, with hands-on experience in security monitoring and incident response. Essential qualifications include proficiency with Rapid7 and SIEM platforms, strong skills in alert triage and security investigations, and familiarity with vulnerability management tools. Experience with Mimecast administration, Microsoft Purview, eDiscovery, DSAR, DLP, CrowdStrike, and Netskope or similar technologies is highly desirable. A solid understanding of SOC operations and security best practices is required. Candidates should demonstrate excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ will be advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Monitoring, triaging, and investigating alerts generated by Rapid7 and SIEM systems, with a focus on reducing backlog and identifying genuine threats.
- Conducting thorough security investigations to analyze events and detect suspicious activity.
- Supporting vulnerability management initiatives by reviewing, prioritizing, and investigating vulnerabilities identified through Rapid7.
- Managing security events through SIEM tools and escalating incidents when necessary.
- Managing Mimecast security operations, including email review, releasing quarantined messages, whitelisting, and sandboxing.
- Supporting Microsoft Purview activities such as eDiscovery, Data Subject Access Requests (DSAR), and Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Managing Netskope requests, including site reviews and URL unblocking.
- Triaging CrowdStrike alerts.
- Providing administrative support for security Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs).
- Maintaining comprehensive investigation records and security documentation.
