Role overview and purpose
Cybersecurity & IT Support Apprentice role offers hands-on experience in safeguarding digital assets, responding to threats, and supporting day-to-day IT operations across the organisation.
You'll gain exposure to both cybersecurity practices and first-line IT support, developing a strong foundation in technical troubleshooting, user administration, and compliance. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to build a career in IT and security while contributing to a resilient and service-focused environment.
Training & Development
This apprenticeship includes structured learning aligned to the Level 4 Cyber Security Technologist standard, covering:
- Threat analysis and mitigation
- Security architecture and controls
- Risk management and compliance
- Incident response and digital forensics
- Secure systems development

What you will be responsible for?
Cybersecurity Focus
- Monitor systems for suspicious activity and potential threats
- Assist with vulnerability scanning, patching, and endpoint protection
- Support incident response and investigation processes
- Help maintain security documentation and compliance records
1st Line IT Support & Administration
- Respond to user queries and technical issues via helpdesk or ticketing system
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity problems
- Set up and maintain user accounts, devices, and access permissions
- Escalate complex issues to 2nd/3rd line teams as appropriate
- Contribute to asset tracking, software updates, and IT documentation
