About the Opportunity
Want to design security solutions that protect some of the UK’s most critical environments? This is an opportunity to join a specialist cyber security consultancy where your work will go far beyond maintaining an existing security estate.
As a Cyber Security Architect, you’ll work directly with customers to understand complex security challenges, identify where their current capabilities fall short and design practical, secure architectures that help them reduce risk and strengthen their overall cyber resilience.
What makes this opportunity particularly interesting is the customer base. A significant proportion of the organisations you’ll support operate within Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and other highly regulated, security-conscious environments.
That means the architecture you design matters.
You could be helping a customer rethink their approach to identity and access, reviewing the security of a cloud environment, assessing existing controls against recognised frameworks or advising on which security technologies genuinely meet their requirements.
Rather than being tied to one organisation, one environment or one technology stack, you’ll get exposure to a variety of customers, challenges and security programmes.
What You'll Be Doing
You’ll act as a trusted security advisor, working with technical teams, security leaders and senior stakeholders to turn complex business and security requirements into clear, achievable architecture.
Your work will include:
- Developing enterprise security architectures and secure implementation patterns
- Reviewing existing environments
- Carrying out security gap analysis
- Helping customers understand where investment or architectural change is required

You’ll also be involved in technology reviews and selection, assessing security products and capabilities without being tied to a particular vendor.
Depending on the customer and project, you could find yourself working across:
- Cloud security
- Network security
- Zero Trust
- Identity and Access Management
- Microsoft security technologies
- Wider enterprise security architecture
You’ll also help customers align their security approach with recognised frameworks and standards including NIST and ISO 27001.
This isn’t a role where you’ll spend all your time producing architecture diagrams in isolation. You’ll need to be comfortable getting in front of customers, challenging requirements where appropriate and explaining technical risks and recommendations to people who may not have a technical security background.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone who already has strong experience within Cyber Security Architecture and is comfortable taking ownership of security architecture conversations from initial discovery through to recommendations and implementation guidance.
You’ll ideally bring experience across areas such as:
- Enterprise Cyber Security Architecture
- SC-100 / Microsoft Cybersecurity Architect
- Microsoft and cloud security
- Zero Trust architecture
- Identity and Access Management
- Network security
- Security risk and gap assessments
- NIST, ISO 27001 and wider security frameworks
- Security technology assessment and selection
- Working with senior technical and non-technical stakeholders

Previous experience within CNI, consultancy, highly regulated industries or other high-assurance environments would be particularly valuable.
You don’t necessarily need to have worked across every technology or framework listed. What’s more important is having a strong security architecture foundation, the ability to understand unfamiliar environments quickly and the confidence to advise customers on complex security decisions.
