Our Mission
Our mission is to deliver clean, affordable energy for all. Our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) provides a British solution to a global energy challenge, positioning us to become a world leader in SMRs and one of the UK's premier green export technologies.
About the Role
Our Digital & IT function is central to enabling secure, scalable and innovative capabilities that support the growth of our SMR programme. As our business continues to evolve, we are strengthening how security is embedded across Enterprise, Engineering, Manufacturing and Programme Delivery activities.
In this context, we're looking for a Cyber Security Architect to provide security architecture leadership across a diverse technology landscape. Working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Programme Delivery, Digital & IT and Cyber Security teams, you will help shape secure-by-design solutions that support the delivery of one of the UK's most ambitious engineering and industrialisation programmes.
This is a highly influential role that combines technical leadership, architectural governance and strategic engagement to ensure technology decisions align with business objectives, customer expectations and regulatory requirements.

- Influence business and technology decisions to ensure solutions are secure by design from concept through delivery.
- Develop and maintain security architecture standards, patterns and reference architectures that support consistent and scalable delivery.
- Provide architecture assurance, threat modelling and design governance across strategic programmes and technology initiatives.
- Collaborate with business, engineering, manufacturing and technology stakeholders to align security architecture with organisational objectives.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
