Cyber Security Architect | UK Defence | Permanent
Remote delivery with travel to client sites as required
£100,000–£120,000+ salary + benefits
Higher packages may be considered for particularly senior candidates
🔐 Active UK SC clearance or higher is essential
We have currently multiple roles available across different levels and type of a programmes.
An exciting opportunity has opened for an experienced Cyber Security Architect to join a highly recognised consultancy delivering major transformation and modernisation programmes across the UK Defence sector.
The consultancy has built a strong reputation delivering high-impact projects across sensitive Defence environments, with a significant pipeline of new programmes ahead. As their Defence portfolio continues to grow, they are expanding their Security Architecture team.
This is a permanent opportunity to work on complex, long-term Defence programmes, helping shape the security architecture of critical systems and infrastructure.

About the role
You will lead and contribute to the security design of complex systems, identify cyber risks and ensure appropriate security controls are embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading security architecture and design across Defence systems and services
- Assessing technical risks, vulnerabilities and security control gaps
- Recommending practical security solutions and design improvements
- Producing security architecture, standards and supporting documentation
- Communicating security decisions, risks and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Working closely with architects, engineers, cyber security teams and programme stakeholders
- Supporting security assurance, governance and design reviews

What we're looking for
- Strong experience in Security Architecture or technical cyber security
- Broad knowledge across network, infrastructure, application, data and identity security
- Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs and network segmentation
- Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, TOGAF or COBIT
- Experience conducting security risk and vulnerability assessments
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills
- Defence, government or highly regulated-sector experience is advantageous
- Active UK SC clearance or higher is required
