Security Architect/Engineer | Up to £85,000 + £7,300 car allowance + up to 25% bonus + Generous Perks | East Midlands, Hybrid (2 Days a week onsite)
Our client is a large, well-established UK manufacturing business with a strong, delivery-focused culture. People at every level roll their sleeves up, directors included. They have a growing security function inside a sizeable in-house IT organisation. This new role is part of a push to strengthen security across the business.
About the Role
What You'll Be Doing
As a Security Architect/Engineer
- Reviewing current systems to find gaps and vulnerabilities, then designing and building fixes
- Designing security solutions from scratch and managing them through their full lifecycle
- Providing hands-on security input on major business change and integration projects
- Building relationships across the business and learning what each area needs from security
- Making the case for security investment to technical and non-technical stakeholders, execs included
- Supporting the business during business-critical periods and priority incidents

What They're Looking For
From the Security Architect / Engineer
- A hands-on security engineering background plus real, proven security architecture experience
- Strong endpoint security and Linux skills - Working knowledge of ISO 27001 and NIST
- Exposure to AI, whether securing it or using it in security
- Confidence to hold a room and sell security to the business, with sound, practical judgement
- Pragmatism and resilience in a fast-paced operational setting where security competes with other priorities

Qualifications
- Experience counts for more than certificates, but CISSP or equivalent is a strong plus
- A background in manufacturing, logistics or a similar operational setting is desirable
