Cyber Security Specialist

Location: UK Hybrid
Salary: Competitive + Benefits
Clearance: SC Eligibility Desired

The Opportunity

F5 are partnering with an award-winning consultancy that specialises in delivering technology, data and transformation solutions to organisations operating within complex and highly regulated environments.

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Cyber Security Specialist to help design, implement and assure security controls across cloud, infrastructure and application environments. This is a client-facing position offering the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging programmes whilst acting as a trusted security advisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security architectures across cloud, infrastructure and application platforms.
  • Conduct security assurance and design reviews across programmes and projects.
  • Perform risk assessments, threat modelling and vulnerability management activities.
  • Support compliance with recognised frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST and Cyber Essentials Plus.
  • Lead security improvements across Azure environments.
  • Configure, manage and optimise Microsoft Defender security solutions.
  • Design and develop SIEM and automation use cases within Microsoft Sentinel.
  • Support incident response, threat detection and security monitoring activities.
  • Embed DevSecOps principles into software development and delivery processes.
  • Develop security policies, standards and procedures.
  • Build strong client relationships and act as a trusted cyber security advisor.
  • Mentor and support junior consultants and contribute to internal capability development.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience within Cyber Security roles in enterprise or complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Cloud Security (Azure, AWS or similar)
    • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
    • Network Security
    • Endpoint Protection
    • Security Operations and Monitoring
    • ISO 27001, NIST and CIS frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Microsoft Sentinel (SIEM)
    • Microsoft Defender Suite
    • Azure Security & Posture Management
    • Threat Modelling
    • Vulnerability Management
    • Security Risk Assessments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to engage with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites when required.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience supporting large-scale transformation or infrastructure programmes.
  • Secure systems integration and API security knowledge.
  • Understanding of supply chain security risks.
  • Experience within government, defence, logistics or regulated sectors.
  • Active SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
