Cyber Security - Consultant Level

Our client is looking for ambitious and motivated individuals to join their growing Defence & Security team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a foundation in cyber security, technology, or architecture who wants to develop their consulting skills and gain exposure to complex, large-scale programmes that help keep the UK safe.
You will work alongside experienced Security Architects, Consultants, and technical specialists, helping clients design secure solutions, manage risks, and protect critical systems and information.
Candidates must hold SC Clearance.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Junior Security Consultant, you'll support the delivery of security architecture and cyber security services across a range of Defence and Government projects.
Your Responsibilities May Include
- Supporting the design and development of secure technology solutions for clients.
- Assisting with security assessments, risk analysis, and threat identification activities.
- Learning how client security policies, standards, and governance frameworks are applied in practice.
- Helping to create and maintain security documentation, designs, and architecture artefacts.
- Working with technical specialists across areas such as Identity & Access Management, Security Testing, Privacy, and Cloud Security.
- Supporting workshops and meetings with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Contributing to security audits, reviews, and assurance activities.
- Researching emerging technologies, cyber threats, and security best practices.

What We're Looking For
We're interested in candidates who have a passion for cyber security and technology, with some experience gained through industry, consulting, government, defence, higher education, apprenticeships, or personal development.
You may have experience in some of the following areas:
- Cyber Security, Information Security, Security Architecture, Infrastructure, Network Security, or Cloud Security.
- Security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, or Cyber Essentials.
- Risk assessment, security analysis, or threat modelling.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, or secure software development practices.
- Understanding of networking concepts, authentication, encryption, and access controls.
- Producing technical documentation, reports, or architecture diagrams.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications
The following would be advantageous but are not essential:
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., Security+, SSCP, CISSP Associate, CCSK, Azure Security, AWS Security).
- Exposure to architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or SABSA.
- Experience working within Defence, Government, or regulated environments.
- Awareness of Government cyber security requirements and secure-by-design principles.
- Experience with cloud security and modern security technologies.
