Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Location: Newcastle - Onsite
Overview
Our client is seeking a Cyber Security & Infrastructure Contractor on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The first 3 months will focus on achieving Cyber Essentials certification; the remaining 9 months will focus on network and infrastructure support, implementing changes identified during the certification process.
Phase 1 – Cyber Essentials Implementation
Objective: Achieve Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certification.
Scope:
- Gap analysis against the 5 CE control themes: firewalls, secure configuration, access control, malware protection, patch management
- Asset and software inventory across in-scope devices
- Remediation of identified gaps (configuration, policy documentation, patch cadence)
- Liaison with the certifying body/assessor
- CE self-assessment questionnaire

Phase 2 – Network & Infrastructure Support
Objective: Implement infrastructure changes identified in Phase 1 and provide ongoing network/infra support.
Scope:
- Network segmentation, firewall rule reviews, VLAN/access changes flagged during CE
- Patch management process implementation/automation
- Endpoint and access control improvements
- General network/infra support (troubleshooting, monitoring, minor projects)

Requirements
- Proven experience delivering Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus certifications
- Strong network administration and infrastructure background (firewalls, switching, patch management)
- IASME/NCSC framework familiarity a plus
- Comfortable working on-site as required
- Clear documentation skills for non-technical stakeholders
