🛡️ Defence Cyber Security Consultant | Strategy, Risk & Engagement | Hybrid London 2-3 days a week | £85k base plus 15% bonus

A rapidly growing specialist consultancy is expanding its Defence & National Security practice and is looking for talented Cyber Security Consultants across multiple grades.

This is an opportunity to work directly with UK Government and Defence clients on some of the country's most complex and strategically important cyber security challenges.

You'll be helping shape the security of next-generation defence capabilities, combining cyber expertise with strategic thinking to address emerging threats, new technologies and increasingly contested operational environments.

🔐 What you'll be working on

  • Provide cyber security strategy, advisory and assurance across Defence programmes
  • Conduct risk, maturity and security assessments, identifying practical mitigations and controls
  • Develop cyber strategies, architectures and secure-by-design approaches
  • Undertake threat modelling and assess evolving adversary capabilities
  • Support the secure adoption of emerging technologies including autonomous systems, PNT, cloud and data-centric capabilities
  • Advise senior stakeholders and translate complex cyber risks into clear business decisions
  • Work in secure and classified environments
  • Build trusted relationships with Defence clients as a strategic adviser and "critical friend"
  • Contribute to business development and help shape the continued growth of the Defence practice

👤 What we're looking for

  • Professional experience within Defence, Intelligence, Government or the wider National Security sector
  • Strong understanding of UK Defence and Government security requirements
  • Experience delivering strategic cyber security or security assurance projects
  • Knowledge of contemporary cyber threats, state-based adversaries and the evolving Defence threat landscape
  • Understanding of cyber resilience and security in mission-critical or contested environments
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, CAF and ISO 27001
  • Knowledge of UK Defence security frameworks such as JSP 440, JSP 604 and MoD Secure by Design
  • Experience with supply-chain security, DEF STANs, ISNs and export controls is advantageous
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication and analytical skills
  • Ability to work within secure/classified environments
