Cyber Security Consultant - London, Preston or Birmingham UK

Up to £570 per day, Inside IR35
Hybrid working, 1 to 2 days per week onsite
Must hold active SC clearance

About the Client

Our client is delivering a major programme within the UK Defence sector, operating across a complex multi-supplier environment. They are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Consultant to support the onboarding and integration of new service providers into an established security operating model.

The Cyber Security Consultant Role

As Cyber Security Consultant, you will support the alignment and onboarding of suppliers into an established security and SIAM environment.
You will develop structured onboarding packs, translate existing security processes into supplier guidance and ensure incoming providers understand their security, governance, reporting and assurance obligations.

You will work closely with Security Assurance, Incident Management, Vulnerability Management and Service Management teams to identify gaps, coordinate supplier readiness and ensure processes are consistently adopted.
This is primarily a governance, integration and enablement role rather than a hands-on security engineering position.

Cyber Security Consultant Essential Skills

  • Experience within cyber security governance, GRC or security process roles
  • Experience working within SIAM or multi-supplier environments
  • Strong knowledge of Incident Management, Vulnerability Management and Security Assurance
  • Experience supporting audit, compliance and assurance activities
  • Strong stakeholder management and supplier coordination skills
  • Experience within transition or transformation programmes
  • Ability to interpret operational security outputs, including SOC reporting
  • Active MOD SC clearance, used within the last 12 months
  • Minimum 3 months remaining on current SC clearance
  • Sole UK national
