🛡️ Cyber Security Consultant
📍 Fully Remote (UK) | £45,000 - £55,000
We're working with a leading UK cyber security services company that is looking to appoint a Cyber Security Consultant to join its growing technical consulting team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a security professional with experience in penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or Cyber Essentials who enjoys working directly with clients to improve their security posture.
You'll be involved in delivering a wide variety of security assessments, helping organisations identify vulnerabilities, strengthen their defences, and meet recognised security standards.
🔐 The Role
Working as part of an experienced Cyber Security team, you'll deliver technical security engagements for clients across a broad range of industries, combining hands-on assessment work with trusted security consultancy.
Key responsibilities include:
- Scoping and delivering infrastructure security assessments with clients
- Conducting infrastructure penetration tests across a variety of environments
- Performing vulnerability assessments and providing clear remediation recommendations
- Delivering Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus assessments
- Producing high-quality technical reports that clearly communicate risks and practical remediation advice
- Advising clients on security best practice and helping improve their overall cyber resilience
- Working with internal teams to support pre-sales activities and technical discussions where required
- Keeping up to date with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
- Supporting continuous improvement within the Cyber Security team through knowledge sharing and technical development

🔎 What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a strong technical background who enjoys both the hands-on and client-facing aspects of cyber security consulting.
You'll ideally have:
- Around 3+ years' experience within Cyber Security, Penetration Testing, or Technical Security Consulting
- Experience delivering infrastructure penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, or Cyber Essentials Plus engagements
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Active Directory
- Good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, switches, and enterprise networking
- Experience using vulnerability management platforms such as Qualys, Nessus, or similar
- Good knowledge of OWASP Top 10 and common web application vulnerabilities
- Experience working with virtualisation technologies including VMware or Hyper-V
- Excellent communication skills and confidence presenting technical findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- The ability to manage multiple client engagements and prioritise workload effectively

Industry certifications such as CREST CRT, OSCP, Cyber Scheme CTSM, VA+ or similar would be highly desirable.
Additional experience with Cyber Essentials Plus assessments, phishing simulations, or social engineering engagements would also be beneficial.
