Overview
Our client, an international law firm, is seeking a hands-on Cyber Security Engineer to strengthen security operations, threat detection, incident response and continuous improvement across cloud, endpoint, identity and data platforms.
You will work with Microsoft Sentinel and Security Copilot, contribute to detection engineering and security automation, and help identify and mitigate emerging threats including AI-driven and agentic attacks. The role combines technical depth with broader influence across IT, including involvement in secure solution design and platform change.
You do not need to meet every technical requirement to apply; practical problem-solving, adaptability and sound judgement are also important.
Responsibilities
- Support security monitoring, threat detection, investigation and incident response, including complex and high-severity incidents.
- Develop and refine detection logic in Microsoft Sentinel, including alert tuning, investigation workflows and response capability.
- Use Security Copilot to enhance security investigation, triage and analysis.
- Design and implement AI-driven tooling and automation using machine learning, generative AI and data-driven techniques to improve threat detection and incident response.
- Identify and mitigate emerging threats including ransomware, identity-based attacks, cloud misconfiguration and AI-driven or automated attacks.
- Work with an outsourced Security Operations Centre and internal teams to improve monitoring, responsiveness and service quality.
- Develop and improve incident response processes, playbooks, automation and practical security controls.
- Work with infrastructure, networking, data and other technology teams to embed security into technical delivery and solution design.
- Support audit, compliance and client security assurance requirements through strong operational evidence.

Requirements
- Strong experience in cyber security operations, incident response or threat detection.
- Proven production experience with Microsoft Sentinel as a SIEM platform.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Security Copilot or comparable AI-assisted security tooling.
- Experience managing or working closely with an outsourced SOC or MDR provider.
- Strong understanding of ransomware, identity-based attacks, cloud misconfiguration and AI-driven or automated threats.
- Cloud security experience, particularly within Microsoft Azure environments.
- Strong understanding of detection engineering, alert tuning and investigation workflows.
- Experience developing and maintaining incident response processes and playbooks.
- Understanding of security frameworks, controls and governance.
- Experience supporting audits and client-driven security assurance requirements.
- Relevant cyber security qualification, such as Security+, SC-200, AZ-500, SSCP, CySA+ or another recognised certification.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical risks and recommended actions clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
