About The Role
The Cyber Security Engineer at Deep Sea Electronics Ltd plays a vital role in safeguarding the security of our innovative products. Reporting to the Senior Cyber Security Manager, this position involves working closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, operations, and commercial departments. The primary focus is on supporting and enhancing the cybersecurity posture of our product portfolio by developing strategies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and integrating security best practices throughout the product lifecycle. The role offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated cybersecurity professional to contribute to the development of secure control systems that meet industry standards and regulations, including IEC 62443, R155, R156, ISO 21434, and the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
Qualifications
- The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, along with proven experience in embedded systems cybersecurity.
- Strong knowledge of C/C++ programming for embedded platforms is essential.
- Candidates should have a solid understanding of cybersecurity development processes, risk assessment techniques, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with encryption, secure boot, key storage, trust zones, and security protocols is required.
- Knowledge of automotive cybersecurity standards and regulations such as R155, R156, and the Cyber Resilience Act will be advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills are necessary to effectively engage both technical teams and senior stakeholders, along with a pragmatic approach to risk analysis and mitigation.

Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of cybersecurity strategies and policies across DSE's product range.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations, including the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and industry standards.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives within product roadmaps, ensuring security considerations are integrated from conception through deployment.
- Assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating cybersecurity risks associated with products and systems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation to demonstrate compliance with standards such as IEC 62443 and related frameworks.
- Ensure ongoing adherence to industrial cybersecurity regulations and emerging industry best practices.
- Work closely with engineering teams to embed security features into product design and architecture, promoting secure-by-design principles.
- Support vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and penetration testing activities to identify and address potential security gaps.
- Assist in implementing secure remote access, network security measures, and communication protocols to enhance product security.
- Participate in cybersecurity incident response planning and support continuous security improvement initiatives.
- Share knowledge on cybersecurity threats, emerging trends, and best practices across the organization to foster a security-aware culture.
- Engage with customers and regulatory bodies to ensure product compliance and address cybersecurity requirements effectively.
