Anson McCade is partnering with a global technology and consulting organisation to hire a Cyber Security Engineer into its growing engineering practice. The practice brings together specialists in security engineering, DevOps, software engineering and quality engineering. It's known for solving complex client problems and for giving engineers real room to grow.
The role
You'll help protect client systems, applications and data across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments. That means designing, building and maintaining security solutions, spotting risk early, and making sure systems meet recognised security standards. You'll also get hands-on with tooling for incident detection, response and threat intelligence.

What you'll be doing
- Designing, implementing and managing security tools, systems and processes across infrastructure, applications and data
- Working with engineering and security teams to embed security best practice
- Automating security tooling, including SIEM log ingestion
- Managing firewalls and networks across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
- Developing and maintaining security policies, standards and procedures
- Carrying out infrastructure security reviews using assessment tooling such as CIS benchmarks
What we're looking for
You don't need everything on this list, but you should have experience in some of these areas:

- Core security and platform engineering concepts, such as networking, cloud security, CI/CD, virtualisation and infrastructure as code
- SIEM and log routing tools such as Splunk, Sentinel, Cribl or ELK
- AWS, Azure and/or GCP
- Scripting or programming in Python, Bash or PowerShell
- Linux or WSL development
- IDS/IPS, vulnerability management and endpoint security
- IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or Bicep
- SOC experience
- Familiarity with AI hardening techniques
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
